This is both a motor speed control inverter and a bypass fused disconnect switch with triple motor contactor relays. Replacement cost is over $5000.

The image below shows the inside of the motor control box. It has 3 motor contactors that allow for by-passing the inverter and running the load directly from the line if desired. Also included are fuses and a big disconnect switch.
Note the three 40 hp 3-pole contactors.
Dimensions are about 56" tall by 18 wide by 14 deep (accounting for the manual disconnect switch handle).
