We have run a very unscientific test, but we were impressed with the results. Using the NMO150/450/800 antenna connected to a Motorola Spectra A4 VHF at 25W, we conducted radio tests at 144 Mhz, 152 Mhz, and 162 Mhz (both simplex at a distance of 43 miles, and on regional repeaters). On all occasions, the NMO150/450/800 antenna transmitted and recieved superior signals to the test antenna, a 1/2 wave VHF only antenna.
PS: Seems to have nice AM Airband receive - we've been listening to local air traffic comms recently, and it is doing quite well.
This is an updated picture of the antenna, a mag mount, and a Radio Shack Pro-92 scanner in typical configuration. This "suggested serving" produces great results for us - you should try it out!!
