Alchrome® DK Alloy Flat Resistance Wire

Alloy: Contains Nickel, Chromium, Iron And Aluminum primarily.
(although these rolls of wire are old and they have been carefully stored inside.) - each roll is wrapped in absorbent paper then in kraft paper , then wrapped in a plastic bag and in a box with desiccant. The boxes are then contained in another closed box that is padded with foam.
This wire was used for cigarette lighter elements.
It has an aluminum content in the alloy. Once the wire it is heated to 1600 1800°F it will self oxidize (with aluminum oxide) and insulate itself.
Originally these rolls cost $300 a piece because of this special alloy.
