32SSLCD serial 4 digit LCD display. Emerging Technologies, LLC. 32 Segment Serial LCD Controller is designed to easily control up to 32 LCD segments from a serial connection. The 32SSLCD uses an easy to understand protocol (IDcomm) and is dip switch selectable for standard mode (numerals only) or 32 segment mode (default). Standard mode is easy to use requiring only ASCII data be sent (ID, Address, and four Numerals) Standard mode is intended for use with digit displays. The 32 segment mode allows individual control of each segment. This unit is well suited for use with microcontrollers or basic stamps. You will need an RS232 to TTL converter to use the 32SSLCD with a computer. See the datasheet for examples and sample code.
Multiple 32SSLCD's can be used on a single serial port. Up to 8 32SSLCD's can share the same port. There are additional modules available that can share the serial port as well.
