The construction of this trailer is pretty easy (but this of course depends somewhat on your mechanical abilities). Most guys with a decent welder have those abilities and shouldn't have any problem. It you have built a trailer before then these plans should make it pretty straight forward. If you have never built a trailer, I provide easy to understand instructions. Also included is a list of the trailer parts required such as the axle, fenders, springs and mounting hardware along with the winches, swivel jack, coupler, etc. The component supplier list will give you the names of most mail order suppliers which can provide individual trailer parts, as well as some suppliers which provide general purpose kits for a considerable cost savings. The steel list makes ordering the steel components straight forward. If you have never wired a trailer, the wireing diagram will help you with that.
Two guys can make this trailer in as little as 2 weekends. A chop saw or band saw along with a good welder are all the necessary heavy tools required. A 4 OR 4.5 inch mini hand grinder, hand drill, and hand tools are also necessary.
The cost of making this trailer will vary depending on how much time you want to spend getting the best pricing on the components and whether you have or can get good pricing on tires and wheels (they are about a third of the cost). Also, if you want your trailer to be spectacular you can add chrome wheels and have the fenders chromed. The lower end of the cost of construction is about $400-500. However, a comparable new trailer will cost at least $1500.
