MM130 single axis microstepping 3A stepper motor driver


The MM130 is a single axis microstepping unipolar 3A per phase stepper motor driver with onboard microprocessor control. The driver is controlled via a control port (step/direction, I2C and limit switch inputs), an AUX IO port and ISP programming port. The MM130 supports full, half, quarter, eigth and one sixteenth microstepping - step mode can be changed on the fly via the I2C port. An onboard ATmega168 8bit RISC microcomputer allows user control of step mode, AUX IO monitoring and limit switch detection. The MM130 is designed for high performance unipolar microstepping applications and comes with an integrated heat sink for heat management. The MM130 is an ideal choice for NEMA23 stepper motor used to drive a CNC Sherline, TAIG or similar Mill with room to spare for larger CNC projects.
The onboard processor can be instructed on the fly to change step mode, limit switch monitoring or respond to limit switch state via the I2C port. The MM130 is an open loop design but can be converted to a closed loop design with the addition of Half Effect sensors, linear postion sensors or other sensor technology. The MM133 is field upgradeable.
The MM130 uses an AVR ATmega168 8 bit RISC microcontrollers to control the control the microstepping driver IC, monitor limit switch state and control/monitor the AUX port.
