Tranquell HE Transient Voltage Surge Suppression (TVSS) devices – This robust product protects downstream sensitive electronic and electrical circuits from damaging effects of surges or spikes. Its strength is in its clamping performance from being integrated into the power panel and its durability to repetitive surges. The Tranquell is one of the most flexible TVSS designs in the market by being available in a wide range of mounting configurations that includes, integral to a power panel, power panel box extensions, and a wide range of enclosure types for wall mounting. All products are UL Listed and Third Party tested.
The TVSS connects to the panelboard or switchboard bus bars without adding width or depth to the panel enclosure and occupying 7X of vertical bus space. This unit has bee tested to surge current ratings per NEMA LS-1, up to 200kA per mode, including the fuses in the surge path. Standard features include a surge counter, audible alarm, indicating lights, dry contacts, and an integral surge rated disconnect.
All mode protection is provided with surge components (MOVs) connected on the phase to neutral, phase to ground, and neutral to ground paths as appropriate for the voltage configuration.

Ferraz Shawmut Surge Disconnect Switch – The Ferraz Shawmut Surge Disconnect Switch is an extremely compact, high performance, manually operated switch. It is specifically designed to withstand the high surge current of 200kA with an 8x20 µs waveform seen in today’s transient voltage surge protection device (SPD) applications. Ferraz Shawmut’s Surge Switch utilizes a unique contact design that actually clamp contacts tighter during a surge.

Ferraz Shawmut VSP MOV Protector Surge Suppression Fuses – Ferraz Shawmut surge suppression fuses are specially designed to address the protection of TVSS systems. The surge suppression fuses have been specially designed to withstand 8x20µSec pulses without opening, allowing the TVSS system to react to the surge. All surge suppression fuses have a 8x20µSec surge rating, not a continuous current rating. Under AC short circuit conditions these surge suppression fuses are very current limiting.
